Description
Every Maverick epoxy floor starts here. MavPrime EP is a 100% solids, zero-VOC epoxy primer with the low viscosity to drive deep into a mechanically profiled slab, wetting out the substrate and sealing concrete pores so the system above it bonds to concrete — not to dust and air. It is blush resistant and moisture tolerant, so it performs on real-world slabs, not just lab panels. Surface prep is non-negotiable: shot blast or diamond grind to a clean, sound mechanical profile before priming. Once down, MavPrime EP carries a 6 to 24 hour recoat window — plan your next coat inside it for maximum intercoat adhesion. Per the TDS, coverage runs 200–533 sq ft per gallon at 3–8 wet mils, so figure your slab against that range when sizing kits. Pros run it as the foundation under MavCoat SLE self-leveling epoxy, under trowel-applied MavClad EM epoxy mortar bodies, and under MavTop broadcast systems, with the topcoat closing out the stack. Patch spalls and cracks with MavPatch Epoxy or MavRapidPatch before you prime. Sold as a 1.5-Gallon Kit — contractor / volume pricing available upon request. One primer, every Maverick epoxy system — built by the team, proven on the floor.
